Omnio raises Pre-seed financing to build "Google Translate" for industrial device communication
Copenhagen based Industrial IoT startup Omnio, which makes industrial device onboarding fast and easy, has raised a Pre-seed financing round. The round was led by PreSeed Ventures with participation from SEED Capital, byFounders and a number of angels including Alexander Aghassipour, CPO & founder at Zendesk.
In recent years there has been a proliferation in the number of IoT platforms in the market offering solutions to monitor, analyze and optimize industrial devices. However, they all face the same challenge of onboarding devices - especially legacy - to their solutions and making them interoperable.
In order to solve this challenge for IoT platforms, Omnio has developed a middleware solution that makes device onboarding a matter of a few clicks on the mouse. The solution works like "Google Translate" for device communication by translating communication between an IoT solution and connected end-devices. It already offers support for more than 10.000 different device models including devices from manufacturers like ABB, Schneider Electric, Siemens, Danfoss, Grundfos and more.
"We are proud to be backed by this group of highly experienced investors and founders," says Omnio’s CEO Mikkel Christian Sørensen and continues," With the funding in place we are going to rapidly expand both the number of platforms and device models we support. We already have a lot of really exciting projects under way."
